Projects for Parents

The Sage Educational Trust does not work exclusively with children, but recognises the importance of involving all members of the family, indeed, all members of the community. As a result, Sage has developed and run various projects for community and family support, as well as extending some projects, such as eDemocracy, to include adult family members.

Resources for Parents

Sage has compiled an extensive contact list for organisations providing help and support for parents and their children. Click here

Light Up To Learning

Sage has commissioned a team of local people, co-ordinated by Liz Driver, to run a series of consultation and support programmes for local parents. Under the name of Light Up To Learning these have covered areas such as bullying, special needs and the issues associated with children's transition from primary to secondary school.

Downham Families in Partnership

This is a new project that helps to support local parents and children across a wide range of areas such as education, behaviour management and health and social development. The project is funded through the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund and supported by the Sage Educational Trust.

Anger & Behaviour Management Workshops

Sage has supported a series of workshops aimed at exploring ways of dealing with angry children and identifying strategies for dealing with anger and challenging behaviour. The workshops are run by Dramatherapist Emma Ramsden and supported by the school's Learning Support Mentor.

e Democracy Project

Pupils did a great deal of work on the eDemocracy Project, creating their own questionnaire for their peers. They also developed a version of the questionnaire for adults that parents, grandparents and other adults might be interested in looking at:
