eDemocracy Project

about this project
This was a citizenship project for Downham and Bellingham schools working with Sage. Pupils from Elfrida and Marvels Lane Primary Schools developed a questionnaire, to find out what local people know about democracy in their area, and to get their ideas, which could then be fed back to the Mayor and the Council. In addition there were materials for teachers to support the project.
What happened?
The aim was to get as many pupils as possible in the target schools to complete the pupil questionnaire. Any other school pupils were also welcome to fill in the pupils' questionnaire. In addition, there was a version for adults, which was specifically aimed at the parents and grandparents of the pupils involved in the project. Again, any other adult reading this page who was interested was welcome to fill in the parents' questionnaire too. (Please note that we are no longer processing questionnaire responses.)
It was quite a long and detailed questionnaire, and pupils needed to think about some of the answers, but we hoped it was fun to fill in. All answers were treated in strictest confidence, and were used to produce a report which was later published on the site.
